Better Homes and Gardens - (the sez and pete edition)
This was actually the second one I picked from my magnificent pumpkin patch. It was bigger than the first one :)
(I believe you would call it a Butterscotch and Walnut Pullapart)
(I didn't win)

green green grass of home
I used to love that song. In fact I still quite admire it. It's in the category of 'Danny Boy' and 'Red River Valley'. Whatever that category may be.
My point, however, was how absurdly green everything looks lately. It just looks unnatural to have the grass so green. Lush even. And long. It would be good rolling-in grass, if you found a nice paddock that cows hadn't been in lately. I just cannot get over how GREEN it looks. Really.
My blog has suffered from inactivity lately. I was alive during early February, March, April and May, but you might have no way of knowing it. So I decided it was high time I resurfaced.
I have been so very very tired. I don't really have a problem getting out of bed. I have learnt that it's best not to think about getting out of bed cos then you invariably don't. I just roll out, eyes open or not, feet first or not. It's the best way really, if you actually want to get somewhere that day.
Well, joy and relaxation, I actually have a weekday off now. The clothes get washed more than in an emergency late at night or Saturday afternoons. And the floor knows a broom again. And I know what daytime looks like when it's not at work and the shops are open ;)
After all this activity, I need to go have dinner. Leftover vegie lasagna. It really was quite yummy. I love leftovers :)

The moon lives forever
I remember being somewhat spun out years ago because the moon came in the night, it came in the day, it never really went away like the sun. The moon has always fascinated me. It just plain looks good even. And I still love to go outside when the moon is full and see my shadow on the ground. My moonshadow hey (go Cat Stevens). I make pete go and do it now and then. When it's so bright you can read things by it.
The other night (last week?) the power went out again, in the middle of the night and i woke up cos pete's computer backup thing started going berserk and making weird noises. I looked outside cos i didn't know whether it was just us or not with the power, and all the street lights and house lights were off, and the moon was near full and i wanted to run around outside but i had to get up early in the morning :)
I mean if you go out the bush and don't have any lights you can see the moon and everything, but it's not often you get to see the town without even just the streetlights. It just looks different :)
I tried to take a photo, but it didn't work. maybe if i knew what special setting i was meant to put it on. bit hard in the middle of the night :)
